Camp Focus
We will teach fundamental movement skills and build overall motor skills. Our focus will be heavy on dribbling. Dribbling is the foundation of basketball and where we can build a strong base off of.
Week 1: We will begin with stationary dribbling and focus on dribbling with our fingertips and not our palms. We will work our way into dribbling and moving at the same time. Our goal is to begin to develop a comfort with the ball and introduce proper technique in other skills such as passing, pivoting, and shooting.
Week 2: Throughout the two weeks, we continue to learn all fundamentals and establish more building blocks for basketball-specific skills. This includes dribbling, rebounding, passing, and minimal focus on shooting and finishing as the weeks progress. Ball handling continues to be a focus; adding more footwork and change of direction.
There will be group skill competitions and games to make learning fun and engaging!
